Brawliemuir Holiday Cottages
Brawliemuir Cottages is owned and run by Carole Duvall and her husband Steve with their 2 ponies, 2 dogs, 2 cats and numerous chickens. We moved to Brawliemuir Farm in 1992 and have been slowly renovating the outbuildings ever since! It has not been a working farm since the 1960’s. We are about 3 miles miles away from the fishing village of Johnshaven surrounded by farmland with a view down to the sea.
We are at the black circle
Johnshaven has a shop with post office and 2 pubs by the harbour. The Anchor Hotel serves food from 12pm and has live entertainment most Saturdays. The larger village of Inverbervie has more shops including chemist, supermarket, bakery etc and is home to the famous 'Bervie Chipper'
This is a great base for exploring the Angus glens, the Mearns country side, the castle trail including Glamis castle, the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother and the dramatic cliff top Dunnottar castle by Stonehaven. The spectacular beach and nature reserve at St Cyrus are close by.
The granite city of Aberdeen is 30 miles north whilst Dundee, home to Scott's arctic ship Discovery, lies 40 miles to the south.
Golfing, fly fishing, sea fishing, walking, hill walking, horse riding are all within easy reach.
